It's been a minute!

Hi everyone,

It’s been a little while since our last blog, so we thought it was about time we let you know what we’ve been up to.

If you’ve been following along, you’ll know that after two brilliant years at Bushfoot Golf Club, the Rock Solid Open packed its bags and headed to Galgorm Castle Golf Club for its third edition. More than 50 players joined us for the day, the course was in great shape and the weather was superb. Colin Platt also decided he’d quite like the trophy back, lifting it for the second time in three years. We’ll be back at Galgorm Castle on Sunday 30th May next year, so get the date in the diary. We’d love to see you there.

June belonged to Michael. After what can only be described as a lengthy spell of not so Rock Solid golf, he put together a superb 42 points round to win the Captain’s Prize at Carrickfergus Golf Club. Thankfully, he hasn’t spent the last few weeks reminding us about it… much.

If you’ve been keeping an eye on our social pages, you’ll also have seen that Rodney and his partner Dave are through to the semi-finals of their flight in the Creator Golf Club Match Play. They’re still waiting to find out who they’ll be facing, but they already know they’ll have home advantage at Dave’s place, Donaghadee Golf Club. Hopefully they can keep the run going and save us from having to hear about “what might have been.”

As for Aaron, there’s not a lot to report, other than he’s off for a lesson tomorrow in the hope of finding “one swing thought” instead of the usual dozen. With a few important games coming up, let’s hope the lesson sticks for longer than the drive home. On another note, he has just had his Swifts Forge handcrafted putter lengthened so perhaps that could be the key to a good score!

On the clothing front, things have been a little quieter. The focus has now turned to what’s next, with Rodney working on some fresh T-shirt designs. We’re also looking at new caps and because this is golf in our part of the world, a few winter woolly hats that will probably get more use than the caps. We’re hoping to have the new T-shirt designs boxed off soon and we’ll be sure to share them as soon as they’re ready.
